Radiology is the branch of medicine that uses radioactive substances, electromagnetic radiation and sound waves to create images of body parts and activities, its organs and structures, for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment. A Radiographer produces the images using one of the above techniques then passes the images on to Radiologists (doctors who specialize in interpreting X-rays) to screen for, diagnose and treat health conditions such as cancer and broken bones.
