Hospitals Auxiliary of Bermuda (HAB)
The HAB is the oldest and largest volunteer agency in the BHB. They donate over 40,000 hours of service annually, and have contributed millions of dollars in support of the hospitals since their inception in 1953. The most recognisable faces of HAB are the “Pink Ladies and Men” (adult volunteers) and “Candy Stripers” (students) you will see around the hospital, from the front information desk and Pink Café to the wards.
But there are many more ways to volunteer with the HAB:–
The Barn
The Barn is the largest thrift shop in Bermuda, providing the community with affordable resale items. It is one of HAB's most profitable fundraising enterprises.
The Pink Café & Gift Shop
The Pink Café serves a diverse menu prepared by culinary professionals and served by volunteer Pink Ladies and Candy Stripers.
The Gift Shop next door to the Pink Café, offers a variety of gift items, snacks, sundries, books, magazines, cards and more.
Overseas Family Help Service
Overseas Family Help Service provides support and assistance to overseas patients who are in hospital and to their companion(s). HAB helps with accommodations, communications, translations and emotional support.
Other areas where HAB volunteers make a difference:

Candy Stripers
Candy Stripers are HAB student volunteers. They must be at least 14 years of age. They donate their services by volunteering in many areas throughout the hospital, and in The Pink Café and The Barn.
