Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) combines radio waves, a powerful electromagnet and computer software to create images of soft tissue without using radiation. MRI can often diagnose and assess certain diseases earlier than is possible with other diagnostic techniques. Exams typically last from 20 minutes to an hour. Patients are requested to arrive half-hour early for screening and preparation. All jewelry must be removed and the technician notified about any implants such as fibrillators or artificial joints.
