Hospice and Palliative Care – Agape House
"You matter because of who you are. You matter to the last moment of your life, and we will do all we can, not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die". --Dame Cicely Saunders
The goal of hospice is to enable patients to continue an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so their last days may be spent with dignity and quality, surrounded by their loved ones. Agape means unconditional love.
At Agape House we affirm life. We treat the person rather than the disease; we focus on quality of life and individualised attention. We strive to provide family-centered care involving the patient and the family and caregivers in making decisions.
Located on the grounds of King Edward Memorial Hospital, Agape House is an old Bermuda home with cedar beams and a great deal of charm surrounded by manicured grounds and overlooking the Botanical Gardens.
An interdisciplinary health care team of palliative care specialists work together to care for you or your loved one. Together, they provide complete palliative care aimed at relieving symptoms and giving physical, social, emotional, and spiritual support. Our team members are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Referrals are accepted either from physicians, directly from the Hospital and P.A.L.S.
