Medical Social Workers

Medical Social Workers provide supportive, confidential counseling to patients and their families to help them cope with the many problems that can accompany illness and disability. They identify needs and connect clients to community resources that may be able to help with day care and financial or emotional problems. They often coordinate arrangements for home care and equipment needed after discharge. When patients need to go abroad, MSWs arrange for air evacuations and help relatives make plans for accommodations.
